One day I was at school when (at different times) two of my friends invited me to their birthday parties on the same time. I just couldn't say no. So I went and told my mom. She said I should say no to one of them. So I called Sam (the second on that asked).
"I'm so sorry, Sam." I started. At least it was a better start than I had suspected. "But I have to go to Hannah's party. She asked me first."
It was a mistake to tell WHO asked first because she said, "Oh, so you like her more than ME??!!" and she hung up.
And now I had a problem.
I called her again and again. She would NOT answer me.
So I just decided to leave a message saying I wasn't going to Hannah's party either.
(True story btw...and I didn't use real names.)
