The Man Behind The Mask
Bilbo Bananas
11/3/2009

"I wish I could see the face of my rescuer," Caroline said.
"Then it wouldn't be a mystery," The masked man replied. His deep green, blue eyes were like the ocean after a storm. They peered through the opening of the black leather mask.
"Just one small look," Her voice was sweet like cake and smooth like butter.
"Nope," He replied gently. She was draped across his arms and her blonde hair fluttered against her back as he carried her up the hill to the great stone castle.
The Insufferable Forest and it's dangers disappeared behind them as they got farther and farther up the hill. Never once did their gazes unlock.
"What about your lover?" The man in the mask asked her.
"He died, when he was sailing to Europe, his ship got attacked and they said," She paused, recalling the memory was painful and she did then lower her gaze, "They said he didn't make it."
"I'm sorry."
"I promised myself that I wouldn't love again."
