I felt terrible. I felt horrible! I was the worst friend ever, but I wasn't about to deny it. I had the right to do that to Susie. But then again, no, I didn't.

Ming grinned at me. "You did the right thing, kid."

"Don't call me me that, Ming." I grumbled, not looking at her.

"Aw c'mon, Lan." Ming said, "Just remember what I said! Lan Jin, and Ming Chen!"

"Don't talk to me about it right now, Ming. Just leave me alone, ok?" I grimaced.

"You have no right to talk to me like that, Lan!" Ming flared up angrily.

"Oh yeah? Who says? You have no right to rule my life!" I yelled angrily. I turned to face Ming. I nearly had to stand on tip toes to look her eye to eye! Jia frowned, arms crossed. An hid behind her. "From now on, I'll become popular my own way. Without you!!"

Ming was surprised at my stand out, and without thinking, dumbly let me through as I ran as fast I could, limping a little.

I had had enough of Ming. I had had enough of me. I would become popular MY way.
