"Wait up, Ming!" Jia screamed, stumbling in front of An.

"You'll have to hurry slow poke!" Ming retorted.

Jia stopped to catch her breath, and Susie saw her roll her eyes at Ming.

I didn't care about anything now, except that I had lost my best friend.
I covered my face in my hands cried.

"Ming, can't I talk to them? They're-they're my friends." Lan whispered.

Ming smirked. "Of course you can-" she paused. "Unless you wanna be popular." What is it?"

Lan looked back at me, sitting in the mud, then at Ming, with beautiful shoes, purple hair, and she realised she was looking at the most popular girl in china.

Without a word, Lan followed Ming around the corner, An and Jia at their heels.
