The night was cold and the wind blew wildly. Stella White was her way to Crystal Manor on a case. The case of Whistle Bay to be exact. The car drove slowly down a black and quiet street. Suddenly the car came to a stop and Stella realized she was at Crystal Manor close to Whistle Bay. She stepped out of the car and got out her flash light. Her phone buzzed. It was a reminder that she was going to Whistle Bay today. All of a sudden in a split second she was walking down a rocky gravel path close to the bay. She heard a “ growl” ! “ Hello, ” she said in a whisper . “Hello, ” she said a little louder. Then out of no where there was a loud splash!!!!!!! Stella ran down to the lake to see what had happened. “Help, ” came a yell out of no where. “Help, ” there it was again. Stella saw a person in the lake and went to help her out. “What just happened?, ” asked Stella. “ I was walking and all a sudden I tripped., ” She told Stella. “Are you okay?, ” asked Stella. Yes. By the way I’m Miss Trail. Who are you? She asked Stella. “I’m Stella White. Nice to meet you. Now, do you have any idea where you tripped. Asked Stella.” “I think it was over here., ” said Miss Trail. “Hmmm . Stella looked for a clue. Rope!!!!!! That’s what made you trip.” Said Stella. “ I wonder where it came from., “ “ Do you have any idea why someone would want to make you trip and fall into the lake?, ” asked Stella. “ Well, are you a detective like Nancy Drew., ” Asked Miss Trail.” I actually am., ” said Stella. “ Well, 2 months ago my mom’s best friend died, and left her fortune to my mom and dad. My mom could not take care of it so she gave it to my brothers and me. I think someone is after it., ” Said Miss Trail. “ Why didn’t you mom’s friend give it to here family? , “ asked Stella. “ Because she was never close to her family. Part of the fortune is buried somewhere here in Whistle Bay. , “ said Miss Trail. “shhh, did you hear that. , “said Stella. “ Hear what? What was it?,” asked Miss Trail. “ I think someone is watching us. ,” said Stella. ”Let’s go to my house. We can have some tea. ,” said Stella. “Thanks, except I have some paper work to sign for my mom’s friends will. , “ said Miss Trail. ‘ Call me if you find out any thing. , “ said Stella. They both headed separate ways.
