“Here we go!” Karen said cheerfully, placing three steaming bowls of pumpkin soup onto the table. After saying grace, she smiled. I slopped it around in my bowl. Swallowing hard, I excused myself and went up to my room. Dressing into my PJ’s, I sat down on my bed and opened my laptop. My days were becoming crazy. I heard the soft muttering of Rachel and Karen in the dining room. I heard them clearing up, and I heard Rachel climb up to her room. I then heard Karen come up. Then I heard a soft knock on my door.
“Who is it?” I asked, though I knew who it was.
“Me, Luce. Can I come in?”
Fixing my hair, I sighed. “Sure.”
The door opened and Karen came in with some buttered bread, and a microwaved warmed up bowl of pumpkin soup.
“I know you’re secretly hungry!” Karen said grinning.
“Just put it there please.” I motioned for the bedside table.
“What’s wrong?”
“Everything, and nothing. I’m just sad. I feel so gloomy. And the horrible thing is, I don’t know why.”
“Lord, I take out the evil spirit out that’s in Lucy. I free her from any sadness, and I loose the blessings of Heaven upon her.” Karen said out of the blue.
“Thanks. I…I feel a little better.”
“Better enough to come to the movies with Rach and I?”
I mocked like I was thinking. “Well, I’m in my jammies, and…I think I could squeeze it into my schedule.”
I smiled.
Karen smiled.
“Well, I’d better leave you to change, and I’ll call Rachel. Meetcha downstairs in five, K?”
I nodded hopped off my bed. After Karen left, I selected some jeans and a gold top and white singlet to go under it. Slipping my gold sandals on, I grabbed my white sling over bag, and rushed out of my room, shutting off my laptop and taking a few bites of toast and soup.
Running downstairs, I met Rachel and Karen at the front door, and went out for our Girls night...................
