Sister to Sister. Part3

I thought about the last paragraph, the rhyming wasn’t great. I shrugged and bit into my peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Pressing print, I got up and collected it from the printer, gingerly folding it and putting it in my school bag. I left my half-eaten sandwich and fell asleep, dreaming about… Pinecones!


The next morning, I woke up to the sun streaming through the slit in my curtains. I sat up and stared into space for a moment. Looking at the clock, I quickly made my bad and dressed into some green army pants and a black three-quarter length sleeve top. Slipping my sneakers on, I grabbed my jacket and bag, and ran out of the room. Setting it on the counter, next to my older sister’s look-alike bag I then gulped down the porridge my mother set out for me. I said hello to Rachel, my older sister. I was surprised to see her actually, last night she had gone on a sleepover at her best friends house.
“Home so early?”
She gave me a look. “We just had a little fight. Doesn’t matter, she’s a snob anyway!”
“Why are you still friends then? You always say that after EVERY fight you have!”
Rachel stuck her tongue out at me. I almost collapsed in laughter! It’s not everyday you see a fifteen year old stick her tongue out.
“So immature!”
“You know what’s immature!? We have to have the same backpacks! Come on mum! I’m trying to be cool here! The backpack is ruining it all!”
“You don’t need a back pack to ruin it!” I muttered as I put my empty bowl in the sink. Mum gave me the look, and I smiled a cheesy smile, then grabbed my backpack.
“Well see you all,” I kissed Amelia on the top of her fuzzy brown head and hugged my mum. “Comin’ Rachel?”
“Yeah.” With flaring nostrils she, and I walked to school. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was shining brilliantly, everything was perfect. When we arrived at school we departed to our classes just as the bell rung. When the time came to give Miss Newton my report, I zipped open my backpack and out fell an MP3player, make up and fashion magazines. Rachel!.................
